The most important project you will ever work on is yourself. How so? People come and go all the time. In fact they say that you replace most of your friends every 7 years, however you’ll always be stuck with yourself. Growing and improving as a person is all part of life, but how do we go about it? Here’s 7 ways that you can become a better you.
Regardless of age or appearance there are numerous benefits of exercise. A recent study found that those who exercise regularly (and have been for at least 4 weeks) will experience a better sleep, and better rest has a whole list of its own benefits. In addition to that you’ll feel better about yourself, boost your confidence, reduce your risk of heart disease (as well as whole array of other illnesses) and arguably most importantly you’ll look a lot better in and out of your kit. Already exercising? Great, check out the other posts on ideas of how to switch it up and continue your progress.
Now this can be interpreted in many ways, for example working hard can simply mean putting more effort in at the gym, working hard in College/University or trying your best to put up with annoying siblings. However the general idea is that those who work hard will get further in life. Makes sense right? Put in the work now and reap the rewards later! Weather that means doing a couple extra hours of revision to make sure you get the grades or work extra hard at work to get that promotion, whatever it may be. Where as those who do not may find themselves unhappy further down the line when they’re stuck where they don’t want to be. Which leads me onto my next point.
Step out of your comfort zones
Gents; great thinks do not come from comfort zones, they never have and they never will. What do I mean by this? Well look at it like this, over time we develop routines and pick up habits, we get in our comfort zones right? Well to better yourself you should try to step out of your comfort zone each day whether that’s on a small or a big scale. Leaving your comfort zones and taking risks is essential to success and happiness. Take myself for example I have stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new by starting this blog. Just remember that “the biggest risk is not taking any risk” – Mark Zuckerberg
Confidence is essential to being the best possible version of you, confidence makes us more appealing to others, it makes you more attractive, it spices up your social life, It’ll benefit you at work or College, and confidence makes us happier! Shall I go on? The bottom line is that confidence is essential, it increases our performance in everyday life and without it? We wouldn’t be nearly as awesome. Make sure to check out the 5 best ways to boost your self-confidence.
Never stop learning
Nothing screams impressive like a well-educated individual, and that is just one of the many reasons why you should strive to learn something new on a daily basis. Those who always push themselves to learn new things are often a lot more interesting when engaging in conversation, you will appear more humble rather than arrogant, and you will be more likely to succeed. This is not a matter of having a high IQ but rather a case of broadening your understanding of whatever you may be interested in. One invaluable thing to learn is a second language. In fact those who can speak multiple languages instantly appear more intelligent and appealing to talk to.
Cut the rope on negativity
In many ways negativity is a disease. Its contagious! If the people around you are negative it will make you negative, it will make your confidence drop and it’s not doing you any favours. And that is why you NEED to eliminate those negative people from your life. Why? Because they make you scared to try new things! Lets be honest we have all neglected to try something new or wear a different style of clothes etc. Because we’re scared what other people will think. Well it doesn’t matter what other people think, cut the rope on negativity! Does this mean you need to find some new friends? Yeah Maybe. Find a new job? Quite possibly, but in the long run it will pay of big time in terms of your confidence and well-being. I assure you.
Take pride in your appearance
Needless to say ones appearance should be taken seriously, after all you’re only representing yourself. However you don’t need to go crazy if you don’t want too, a few simple accessories or changes can make all the difference. When someone firsts meet you, In fact before they even meet you as soon as someone sees you for the first time you will be judged by your appearance from your hair to your teeth all the way down to your footwear. Don’t like it? Tough, but we can take advantage of it by looking our best every single day. Now this doesn’t have to be a big thing, you can simply start by making sure your clothes fit, that they’re clean, and that your hair is combed (or however you have it) just make sure it doesn’t look like you’ve just rolled out of bed. Simple right? Exactly.
