Your morning defines the rest of your day, wouldn’t you agree? If have a bad morning, you’re instantly up against it for the rest of the day. Have you ever heard the saying: ‘Look who woke up on the wrong side of the bed’? Of course you have. Don’t be that guy! The secret to morning success, is a good routine (And a good attitude) Check it out:
Wake up early
Now I know it can be hard to get up in the morning, and sometimes it just seems impossible. I get it, I really do. But it needs to be done…Trust me. The last thing we want is a race against the clock first thing in the morning. This means being organised the night before, and waking up with plenty of time to have breakfast, workout, and shower!
One simple way to help you get up, is to get sufficient sleep. Not sure how much sleep you need? Check it out.
Make your bed
It may seem trivial to some, but making your bed in the morning is excellent way to put discipline in your routine, and start your day right! Making your bed in the morning may mean a little more than you think. Take a look:
So you have successfully dragged yourself out of bed. Congratulations! The hard part is over. Almost…The next port of call for a killer morning routine is a good workout. There are plenty of reasons why exercising in the morning is the way to go. It wakes us up, makes us feel good, burns more calories, and gets it out-of-the-way early in the day. So we know it’s the right thing to do, however it’s a whole other story when it comes to stepping out for a run on a cold winters morning.
Skipping breakfast is a common mistake amongst Men and Women. Our breakfast provides us with energy for the day, gives us essential nutrients, and gets our metabolism going early in the day. What’s not to love? You can even make some recipes the night before to save time. Not sure what to go for? Check out these 10 easy to make healthy breakfast ideas. Personally, I take a multi-vitamin every morning with my breakfast. This simple supplement provides my body with essential vitamins you may struggle to get through your diet.
In addition, it is important to drink plenty of fluids in the morning. This re-hydrates our bodies after hours of sleep. One of the easiest ways to dot his, is to have a glass of water with your breakfast (And a bottle during your workout).
Brush and floss
So dental hygiene is pretty important. Obviously. Which is why every morning you need to give your teeth a thorough brush (at least 2 minutes), followed by a quick floss of those hard to reach areas. I would seriously consider using an electric tooth-brush, as they’re defiantly the way forward. The reason why, being that a good electric tooth-brush, completes something like 4000 more strokes a minute, compared to a manual toothbrush. Finally, flossing in the morning is an excellent way to prevent bad breath, which can be a serious confidence killer.
Showering in the morning rather than at night is a personal preference. But is makes sense right? I mean, you swet at night without even realising and therefore showering in the morning completely removes that problem. Whatever you decide, showering in the morning allows us to have a good wash, and smell good for the rest of the day, all whilst increasing our confidence. It’s a win win.
Do your hair (If you have any)
Hair is a luxury many take for granted, if you’re fortunate enough to have a full head of hair, make sure to style the shit out of it. Leaving the house with a styled, respectable looking head of hair, will do you a world of good. You’ll feel better, look better, as well as coming across as more confident, and more approachable.
In conclusion, our mornings are not to be wasted. The earlier we get up, the more time we have to work hard, exercise, and prepare ourselves for the day ahead. Although you may be reluctant to get up in the morning, completing this morning routine before you leave for work or college, will certainly set you up for the rest of the day.
